TEMPLE OF DREAD - New Album "God Of The Godless" via Testimony Records - Final Single revealed

Axe master Markus Bünnemeyer comments: "None of our other songs sounds more like Slayer than 'Black Scream', and our love for the Bay Area thrash legends has become ever more apparent. Funny enough, this track was originally intended to pay homage to Floridian death metal veterans Massacre. The lyrics of 'Black Scream' revolve around another victim of the Trojan War: Philoctetes. This brave warrior was shamefully abandoned by his dishonorable comrades-in-arms."
Like its highly acclaimed predecessor "Beyond Acheron" (2023), "God Of The Godless" comes with a massive production courtesy of drummer Jörg Uken, who owns and runs the renowned death metal smithy Soundlodge Tonstudio, and features a cover artwork by Italian artist Paolo Girardi.
Building on their brutal death metal base, TEMPLE OF DREAD also work with dark and heavy parts as well as a surprising dash of melancholia - and even some knife-tips of black metal spice. Lyrically, they continue to upgrade the genre's traditional splatter-themes by translating them into the realm of classical myth. For the lyrics of "God Of The Godless", the East Frisians continue the fruitful collaboration with their friend and word-smith, the psychologist Frank "Doc" Albers. Furthermore, the trio has decided that it is time to leave their Northern German island and go raiding the rest of the world by performing live with an extended line-up. THE GATES OF SLUMBER was formed by Karl Simon in 1998. Various people were in and out of the group between 1998 and 2001, when the "Blood Encrusted Deth Axe" demo was recorded with Jamie Walters of Boulder on drums and Dr. Phibes/Athenar (later to form the cult black metal band Midnight) on bass. In 2003 Jason McCash took over the bass duties and was a long-time member of the band until his untimely demise in 2014, after which Simon decided it was time to call it quits. That was until 2019 when the renowned metal festival Hell Over Hammaburg wanted to bring the band back on stage to perform at the festival’s 2020 edition. Simon reformed the band with its original member Chuck Brown on drums and Steve Janiak on bass and got back to work. “We’d been asked several times to play Hell Over Hammaburg. But there was no “we” to play. The germ of the idea started. We started re-learning songs from the first LP. It wasn’t too long into the rehearsals that we started coming up with new songs.”, states Simon.
After a reunion tour was finished, Covid kicked in to slow down the process. Half of the album was already written but the remaining half took its time, and the songs were left to stew in their juices. With bastard heavy songs honoring the Doom Metal greats Saint Vitus and Penance, straight forward bangers, lyrics inspired by the Black Death and John Carpenter’s The Fog, THE GATES OF SLUMBER is a truly crushing album and a must listen to any Doom Metal fanatic.
Having toured with Pentagram, Reverend Bizarre, Cathedral, Slough Feg, Earthride, and Weedeater in addition to getting praised by Decibel Magazine such as "THE GATES OF SLUMBER have quietly gone about the business of becoming one of the best heavy metal bands in the world.", it’s safe to say The Gates of Slumber play some of the heaviest metal on this planet.

NASTY SAVAGE is an American thrash metal band from Brandon,Florida, formed in 1983 by vocalist "Nasty" Ronnie Galletti. They were extremely influential in the emergence of the Florida death metal scene, inspiring bands such as DEATH and OBITUARY. They rose to popularity primarily due to singer "Nasty" Ronnie Galetti's over-the-top stage show performances (in early shows Ronnie smashed television sets over his head). After releasing three albums and one EP between 1985 and 1989, they broke up. After there had been speculation about a reunion for some time, their last studio album to date, "Psycho Psycho", was released in the spring of 2004, and the band played occasional live shows before disbanding for the second time in 2012. The band once again reformed in January 2016 and is active ever since.

 German Metallers PYRACANDA have revealed a second track from their comeback album "Losing Faith", set for release on Octobber 10th 2024 via FHM Records.

Originally founded in 1987, PYRACANDA hit the scene with their debut album "Two Sides Of A Coin" in 1990 – an explosive mix of high density speed metal & strong melodies. Produced by Armin Sabol (i.a. Rage and Sinner). Influenced by the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal and early Metallica, singer Hansi Nefen, the guitarists Sven Fischer & Dennis Vaupel, bassist Dieter Wittbecker and drummer Elmar Gehenzig created a unique blend of furious riffs & lush chord progressions that set them apart from their competitors. Along with labelmates Blind Guardian, PYRACANDA was another treasure coming out of the No Remorse Records camp.
The follow up album „Thorns“ – released in 1992 – was produced with Mekong Delta mastermind Ralph Hubert and saw PYRACANDA adding some progressive rock elements. Both albums feature exceptional cover artwork by renowned artist Joachim Luetke (Kreator, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Marilyn Manson, Destruction i.a.). With Gehenzig leaving the band (who was then replaced by Patrick Grün – now also with Caliban) and Fischer joining the metal institution Rage a year later, things were paused. For a long time. And they came together again.
In 2020, PYRACANDA announced their reunion, playing the old hits for their loyal fans after all these years and working on new music at the same time. On 10 October 2024, the time has come. After 32 years, the new album „Losing Faith“ comes in good old PYRACANDA style. It is 100% oldschool composed and recorded. No frills, no drum computers. Everything was composed in the rehearsal room and recorded by hand in the studio. But it doesn’t come across as old-fashioned. It’s real, true and new heavy metal.

KROMLEK - New Pagan Metal Double Album "III - III" via Trollzorn - Lyric Video Premiere
 German Pagan Metallers KROMLEK surprise the scene with the release of a monumental double album! "III - III" is coming on November 14th 2024 via Trollzorn Records on 2-CD and 2-LP.
The first part, entitled "III-III," is a collection of their latest compositions created over the past decade. These tracks were carefully produced at the Antric Light Records studio and mastered in 2024. The second part, "Upphaf," offers a comprehensive retrospective of the band's history. Here, selected pieces are reworked, recorded, and produced anew to impressively document KROMLEK's musical evolution.
While their last album "Finis Terræ" (2011) dealt with the end of the world in various layers of meaning and interpretation, "III-III" turns to origins and beginnings, exploring the spiritual cosmos of pre-Christian philosophy and worldview. Musically, this journey is wrapped in powerful, heavy Pagan Metal, enriched with elements from Melo Death and Black Metal.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their former label Trollzorn Records, the band reunited in 2023 for two selected best-of concerts before closing the chapter on KROMLEK. It is particularly noteworthy that this double album is a direct response to the long-standing demand from fans for new releases, thus honoring the patience and enthusiasm of their loyal followers.
KROMLEK as usual - Pagan, but different. This is not a revival, but a legacy.

The journey of CHAOS INVOCATION started in the fourth year of this Millennium. Ever since the beginning it has been the intention to manifest the members beliefs and experiences in satanic music. As a trident line-up CHAOS INVOCATION released three full-length records; "In Bloodline With The Snake" (2009), "Black Mirror Hours" (2013) and "Reaping Season, Bloodshed Beyond" (2018). Shortly before the release of the latter, Omega (drums) and Tumulash (bass guitar) joined the founding members A. (guitars) and M. (vocals) and enriched the band with another spearhead. Born in the fall of 2000 in Rouen, ATARAXIE take their main inspiration from the early 90s doom/death metal scene and slowest 80s/90s death metal bands. Thus, their genre mainly includes old school death metal parts and classic doom metal ones slowed down in the most extreme way but also various influences from the bleakest metal genres. Their music plays a lot with contrasts in general: ultra slow crushing parts alternate with furious blast beats, mournful parts with more epic ones, and vocals also varies from really deep grunts to tormented screams.
Their new album "Le Déclin" pushes the themes that were already present on its predecessor "Résignés" with a focus on subjects like manipulation and obfuscation of the Masses, the cult of selfishness, dehumanization towards a parasiting virtual life, global warming insolubility, and reflects the unique musical style of ATARAXIE.
Jonathan Théry (Bass/Vocals) comments on "Vomisseur de Vide": "It is the first new track composed after 'Résignés' so back in March 2020 during the first Covid 19 lockdown in France. I composed all the riffs of this song when it was one of the only possible activities at home to keep one’s sanity. So I quickly shared the ideas with Julien and Hugo and that’s how the song was almost done until we finalized all arrangements in 2022 with the rest of the band. Lyrics are about all false prophets who sadly became particularly famous during this pandemic period but also during the entire history of mankind. From false scientists who lost their minds to embrace a morbid fame to many political/religious leaders promoting chaos or terror just to be just a name to remember. 'Vomisseurs de Vide' is about all these filthy and scornful scumbags vomiting their ignorance and their lowness to the black masses via remorsless media."
