TAROT

Ván Records
11.12.2015
Distribution: Soulfood

Info:

TAROT was formed in 2011 by The Hermit with the goal of recreating the mystical atmosphere created by bands such as Uriah Heep, Rainbow, Wishbone Ash, Pagan Altar, Deep Purple. Some rough initial recordings were made in 2011 which were self released by the band as the "Take a Look Around" demo, although these recordings were fairly primitive, they lay down the foundations of TAROT's sound.

During the next two years, as well as playing in various other bands, the members of TAROT focused on refining their sound. In 2013 they were ready to record the “Life and Death” EP, which was released on cassette in early 2014 through The Hermit's Heavy Chains Records. “Life and Death” struck a chord in the heavy metal underground, selling out in under a week, and received various favorable reviews.

Over the next few months the band recorded two more EPs, “Dying Daze” and “The Watcher's Dream”, both of which were also released on cassette through Heavy Chains. These releases began to incorporate longer and more complex song structures, and more acoustic sounds. Both EPs proved to be as successful as “Life and Death” and also quickly sold out.

As demand for TAROT's music outgrew its availability the band put together two new tracks ("The Warrior's Spell" and "Street Lamps Calling") for a CD that compiled the three EPs, which was released as “The Warrior's Spell” in early 2015. This compilation is now also released as a deluxe double LP by Ván Records. The band is currently working on their debut full length album.
