Mighty Music / Twilight
The bastard death metal offspring, featuring ex-members of Entombed, Dark Funeral & Grave unleash their second album (first for Mighty Music) in November 2007 (Scandinavia)/early 2008 (rest of the world).
Entitled “Pick Up This Sick Child”, the eleven tracks cut like barbwire through innocent flesh, shattering everything on its way. At Mighty Music we’ve lent our ears to many a death metal records. Few have impressed us like this. “Pick Up ...” is simply fantastic.
Vicious Art are currently confirmed as support for Death Breath on a Scandinavian tour.
Vicious Art was formed in 2003. Bringing together the collective experiences from bands such as Entombed, Dark Funeral, Guidance of sin and Dominion Caligula, Vicious Art creates music that covers most corners of the extremes in metal music, with suitable lyrics, better felt than described.
In 2007 PICK UP THIS SICK CHILD was recorded. This, the bands second album, really gets under your skin as being the most intense piece of music thus far from the band. With songs such as ”Tombstone grind”, ”Our family flesh” and ”Evicting dead tenants”, Vicious Art once again prove their ability to stand out along soundscapes of hard, eerie, twisted and unmistakably raw songs, with a notable power to every chord, beat and vocal.
This album definitely have the potential of a death metal classic.
PICK UP THIS SICK CHILD marks the first release on Danish label Mighty Music.
2006 saw the release of WEED THE WILD. A three song EP, on which you will find two of the bands most critically acclaimed songs; ”Weed the wild” and ”Tanja joins the beating”. These songs hold a permanent spot on the Vicious Art setlist, and are always two of the most cheered to when performed live. This EP pretty much set the standard for everything that has been written after, and that’s saying a lot!
The debut album FIRE FALLS AND THE WAITING WATERS, with cover artwork by Kristian Wåhlin, was released in 2004 on Swedish label Threeman Recordings. This album got great reviews throughout the metal community. As far as comparing the songs on this album to what was to come, one might say you could merely sense the sheer brutality that eventually lead up to PICK UP THIS SICK CHILD. Then again, you don’t know the core of Vicious Art until you hear songs such as ”Debria seems to be bleeding”, ”The poet must die” and ”Cut this heathen free”.
Apart from the recordings, Vicious Art takes great pride in trying to be one of the best live acts in death metal today. You wouldn’t want to miss this monster when they reach your town. The band has very high expectations on themselves, playing live, and so you should expect nothing but –literally- a blast when you join the Vicious Art family in the quest for death metal deliverance.
