Supreme Chaos Records
Sometime in the late summer of 2006 MOURNING RISE arose. The project evolved into a band driven by the idea to contrast grief with an invigorating element: a counterpoint made of black humour, critical questions and cynical irony.
In the musical biographies of the band members almost irreconcilable styles collide: Death Metal bites Funk, Acoustic Pop wraps up Rock. The starting point for the common work is the dismantlement of styles, in order to present them in an unexpected context. As a result alternating rhythms and beseeching melodies chain up parts, which remain autonomous in themselves.
Close to a movie’s dramaturgy, the songs thus abstain from a structural corset. The possible imprints multiply in the auditors’ perception as the music rolls in and out like the tide.
Accordingly, the band thinks of itself not as static fabric, but rather as a projection screen for creativeness.
For the implementation of this concept, Mourning Rise collaborated with different artist from the German music scene.
