The album will be released by Ranka Kustannus. Founded in 2007 by the three-headed monster of Timo Ketola (vocals, bass), Antti Ronkainen (guitar) and Pyry Ojala (drums), Caskets Open was originally heavily influenced by Saint Vitus and Finnish doom heroes Reverend Bizarre. Wasting no time, the band scored a slew of live shows and a bunch of offers from various record labels with their 2008 demo “Buried Upside Down”. Consequently, it was the German label Streaks Records who got to release Caskets Open's debut album “But You Rule” in 2010, as a strictly limited vinyl print of 658 copies. In true doom fashion, the making of the sophomore album has been in the making for a looong time. Having completed the songwriting a good while ago, just the release has been planned for a couple of years. Finally on the verge of its release, “To Serve The Collapse” caters the listener a collection of songs more versatile than the trio's doomy outings this far. Drawing influences from punk rock and hardcore, there are vibes of Black Sabbath and New York legends Carnivore to be heard here. On “To Serve The Collapse” Caskets Open plod their way through 70 minutes of some of the most desolate doom dirge and harsh hardcore you'll ever get to hear. Like the sound of Earth opening, this is sheer terror for the ears. The collapse draws near. Tracklist: 01. Phantom Wood 02. Subwoman 03. Humanist 04. Leave Them Alone 05. Funeral Home 06. Mayhem 07.
