PÉNITENT is a band formed from love, from the love of art, life and death. The holy word PÉNITENT is taken from the Confraternity of Penitents, which serves in different forms in Italy, Spain and France.
Formed by the end of 2022 in Marseille and releasing their first demo in 2025, PÉNITENT made their intentions known. With this new MLP, PÉNITENT wants to offer you their soul through a dark, odd yet poetic sort of hard rock, with words fiercely spread in French.
After a couple of liturgies in the south of France alongside such great bands as Gravekvlt and Bataille, PÉNITENT intends to conquer your heart. Starting with Court of Chaos Festival, they will soon knock at the door of your lands and homes...
From 4 of their original songs, 2 of them are taken and re-recorded from a previously released demo in 2025. As an intro, a reinterpretation of Angelo Branduardi's "Bal en Fa Dièse Mineur", and to close the ceremony a cover of Icare's "Fils de Lucifer”.
A blend of hard rock, heavy metal and prog rock; to uplift soul and spirit. Passionate chants, spoken in French, to drag your fears down to the ground, where we will all end.
