DARKYRA was founded in 2013 through the company "Online Recording Masters" based in Athens, Greece where vocalist and songwriter Gina Bafile (Anfitrite) found the musicians for what was to become her very first record called "Dragon Tears". The owner and musical arranger of "Online Recording Masters", George Boussounis, formed an introduction with drummer/producer Garry King (Jeff Beck, Joe Lynn Turner) and Gina’s ideas for her very first concept under the DARKYRA pseudonym started to evolve, resulting in the two albums "Dragon Tears" (2014) and "Fool" (2015).
"Life Force" is the third full-length concept album under the DARKYRA brand. It is a glimpse into the eclectic mind of songwriter Gina Bafile, into her epic world of Operatic Rock and Metal storytelling. To walk in her shoes, see through her eyes and feel what she feels. Each song painting a scene, a stroll down memory lane, the struggle between the light and the dark and how far are you willing to go to achieve your dreams. It is the elderly man who waits to join his loved ones who have passed... time is not his friend and it is the journey of soles from different walks of life that come together to create something magical that money can’t ever put a price on. It is the yearning for some quiet in an over active mind or the reminder that life is just way too short and we need to take that leap while we are still alive. To breathe, to grieve, to remember. This is what "Life Force" is all about.
