Fat Brek 27.02.2015
Info:
Although MONOX from Rijeka, Croatia are pretty new on the international metal scene, they have been around since 2002 and the band's members were active in some of the best known Croatian metal bands like Omega Lithium, Gorthaur's Wrath and Mass Hypnosis. After spending a lot of time to find the suitable line-up, MONOX released their first EP entitled "Ending-Beginning" in 2009. This release quickly gave them a lot of attention in the local scene which culminated with their performance at the 2010 edition of Metal Camp festival in Slovenia (now known as Metal Days). Charged with new energy the band spent the last couple of years with writing new music for their debut album. It took a long time because they wanted to be absolutely sure that every single detail on the album is a perfect representation of the band and their abilities. After spending several months in the studio they are now ready to reveal their debut album – „Perception Changes“.
Musically one could categorize MONOX as a modern death metal band influenced by artists like Gojira, Meshuggah, Cynic or Death. Lyrics play an important part in the story of MONOX. They deal with topics like struggle with inner demons and old habits, searching for the way to constantly evolve as an individual and are deeply personal and cathartic. MONOX is an extremely good live band which they proved already on headlining shows and in support if some great bands like Crowbar. So be sure to check them out as they plan to tour throughout Europe in support of the album!
