Second album by French Doom Metal act Monolithe on Candlelight.
Monolithe is the side-project of Sylvain Begot, to some perhaps better known as member of the atmospheric metal band Anthemon. His debut album already offered a 52-minute long song which is a masterpiece of epic proportions.
The follow-up to this 2003 debut, “Monolithe II”, is the second volume of the saga, developed both in the music and in the lyrics. With an extreme Doom Metal basis, the album, just like its predecessor, aims at seeding the roots of what Doom Metal music could become tomorrow: a mix between the extreme heaviness, sadness, mysticism of Doom and the complex structures and experiments of the Progressive world. All along this single 50 minutes song the listener is invited to cross a very strong emotional landscape where beauty, horror, nothingness and hope are united.
