Hi-tech metallers SACRAL RAGE are back with their most ambitious album to date. Formed in 2011, they quickly emerged on the scene thanks to their unique sound and energetic live performances. Having released two albums (“Illusions in Infinite Void” in 2015 and “Beyond Celestial Echoes” in 2018), inspired by late ‘80s US metal, early ‘90s tech/prog, as well as bands like King Diamond, Annihilator and Rush, they bring their own distinct sound, all wrapped in a sci-fi concept that forms part of a larger story explored in their concept novella, Origins of UL.
SACRAL RAGE were formed in Athens, Greece, in December 2011, when vocalist Dimitris K. and drummer Vangelis F. joined forces to create a metal band. Guitarist Marios P. and original bassist Spyros S. soon completed the line-up. Although deeply rooted in classic metal, the band quickly began exploring new musical directions, pushing beyond established boundaries to develop an entirely personal and unmistakably unique sound. Driven by intricate compositions, unconventional arrangements, exceptional musicianship and a restless creative spirit, SACRAL RAGE forged a musical identity that draws from different corners of the metal spectrum without ever belonging to any single one of them. The result is a sound with virtually no direct parallels in today's metal scene, and remarkably few throughout the genre's history.
After a 2012 promo and the “Deadly Bits of Iron Fragments” EP (2013), SACRAL RAGE released “Illusions in Infinite Void (2015). “Beyond Celestial Echoes” (2018) expanded their progressive, cosmic vision, closing with the nearly fifteen-minute “The Glass”.
SACRAL RAGE have built a strong live presence through performances at numerous European heavy metal festivals, with highlights including Germany’s legendary Keep It True XVIII (2015), featuring a special guest appearance by Alan Tecchio for a rendition of the Hades classic “The Leaders,” multiple editions of Up The Hammers in Greece, and Pyrenean Warriors Open Air in France, among others. With “Ark of Cosmic Resonance”, the band enters a new chapter in its journey of relentless musical exploration and evolution.
"Ark of Cosmic Resonance" was produced by SACRAL RAGE. Mixed & mastered by George Christoforidis and SACRAL RAGE at Ignite Studios, Athens. Cover artwork by Aaron Lawrance.
