Explaining SIDEBLASTs sound is not an easy task. The band draws their influences from BEHEMOTH, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, IMMORTAL, and EMPEROR, but still manages to dominate over the endless plethora of imitators through the use of sound bytes in their songs and near-symphonic keyboard samples. All this coupled with the band's patented maniacally ear-shattering-yet-intelligent approach to music, SIDEBLAST are a force to be reckoned with. With the release of their 2nd full length ‘Cocoon’, the band has extracted the essence of brutality and energy from their 1st acclaimed and devastating album ‘Flight Of A Moth’ with a more structured approach to create an apocalyptic death machine, enhanced with lyrical content through a core concept about parasomnia. After having recorded a demo in 2005 and played some gigs across France and Italy, their debut ‘Flight Of A Moth’ was recorded and mastered at the Jailhouse Studios by Tommy Hansen (HELLOWEEN, HATESPHERE) and with it SIDEBLAST got the attention of Germany-based record label Cyclone Empire, who decided to ink a deal with this metal machine and release the album worldwide in 2008. This strong and intense debut got really good reviews and quotes worldwide and amazing statements by awesome musicians: Drum-Legende Gene Hoglan (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, DEATH, TESTAMENT…): "Your stuff sounds killer; Pretty raging, real cool sounds, wild programming! No doubt I'll be hearing lots about ya in the future!" Mario Duplantier (GOJIRA): "Amazing tunes!!! Great Job!!!" TurboNatas (RED HARVEST): ”SIDEBLAST blows your mind away. Raising apocalypse!” Bart Hennephof (TEXTURES): “Bombastic, heavy and raw death metal, with adventurous sideways to blackmetal and thrash, brutal blastbeats combined with experimental sounds, it's a manic combination of many styles, but it sounds as ONE machine, i like it!” Robin Staps (THE OCEAN): "Sattes Brett, geile Trash-Riffs, geht mächtig nach vorne los...fette Reibeisen-Vocals, rauh, frisch und böse. Dazu dezente und sphärische Keyboards…dieses Feeling läßt freudige Erinnerungen an Darkane's bestes Album, ’Rusted Angel’ hochkommen. Geil!" Svencho (ABORTED): “Great sound, very good mix of groove...I like it!” Guillaume Bideau (MNEMIC, Ex-SCARVE): "Personnaly this is not my cup of tea, I would defenatly prefer Faith No More instead of Emperor if you see what I mean… But you've got some real sick shit right here with SIDEBLAST!" Band’s fanbase grew rapidly by hitting the road and taking part in Festivals across Europe sharing stage with bands as Napalm Death, Burning Skies, Neaera, Hacride, Dagoba... In 2010 the band played at the famous Summer Breeze Open Air alongside bands as Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Sepultura, Suffocation, Children Of Bodom! ‘Cocoon’ now has been mixed and mastered at the Hertz Studio in Poland by the Wieslawski brothers (Vader, Behemoth, Decapitated). "Working on the ‘Cocoon’ album was a great pleasure!!! We put our sound into that music and we hope that you will have the same feelings during listening as us during mixing/mastering. This album will kick your ass!!! That’s a fact!!!" - That´s what Wojtek Wieslawski had to say after having finished to work on the album. Smash your cocoon and expose yourself to the intense sound of SIDEBLAST.
