So, we all have to face the «Lord of the Grave» some time. For those who are eager to have a slight foresight to this state can discover that here by themselves. It can be an earth shattering, almost outta-body experience, it will take you to death and even further. The hypnotic riffs and chants will disturb your mind in calming it down. Witness in an euphoric perception the stringy, sticky, blasting sound to which the undead would feast. Lord of the Grave come from the doom of the Black Sabbath, playing the most leaden, sinister form of heavy metal/blues/rock n roll. Formed in 2006 by Rob Grave (g,v), Jukka (dr) and Michael G. Low (b) in Liestal/BL (Switzerland), Michael left the band shortly afterwards due to some personal reasons. He was temporarily replaced by Wilson, yet after some shows and a demo in early 2007, he left to seek his fortune down under Australia. In was Simone, who also had quite an effort to play live and record stuff. But she also had to leave and by summer 2008 Lord of the Grave was back in its original line up – to play some local shows as well as a short tour in 2009 with Revelation, Lord Vicar and Mirror of Deception, culminating in a performance at the Doom Shall Rise Festival in Germany. Lord of the Grave released their debut CD «Raunacht» on infamous German doom label «The Church Within» in spring 2009. Later that year, original drummer Jukka stepped down from the band to be replaced by skin basher Sam Wart. Thus the Lord of the Grave now acts in his most primal, dirge filled and out-doomed constellation so far. Then they yet again prepared for a new record and some more live shows. Lord of Grave’s second album „Green Vapour“ is a blast from the underground, it comes from the caves of the grave. It peers more into the sludgy rock n roll side of heavy stoner doom with a more nihilistic, ‚fuck it’ aspect to it. Yet it is sexy and has the mandatory feel of Black Sabbath, the feeling of groovy 70’s fuzzrock. It will make you nod, it will make you bang in a sluggish kinda way. Here’s an assembly of horror, self-destruction and perversions. [ Promotion ] [ Publishing ] [ Datenschutz ] [BILD] [BILD]
