Reverend Bizarre is as dead as your hopes of some day reaching “the good life”. But to upset record collectors and die hard fanatics, the evil men and women of their record company have desecrated the Reverend’s grave and dug up these rare and much sought after sonic treasures, making them now available to everyone.
The band had a habit of releasing some of their best works outside the confines of corporate mainstream culture, in underground semi-secrecy, which is no news to anyone who followed their career a bit more closely. Even if Reverend Bizarre’s major releases already ended up reckless and daring, these little escapades gave the band a possibility to delve deeper into lunacy, and to focus in one particular idea or theme at a time.
On this compilation you will be able to hear Reverend Bizarre like you have never heard them before on a silver disc: at times rougher, at times more adventurous, but always following only their own path, without giving a flying fuck about the expectations or needs of any audience. This is how they are remembered by those who saw them perform live, too; confusing, sometimes even annoying, but never plain or ordinary.
These little treasures were excavated as follows:
Track 1 taken from Split 12” with Orodruin, Hellride Music 2004.
Track 2 taken from Split 7” with Ritual Steel, Metal Coven Records 2003.
Track 3 taken from Split 7” with Minotauri, Metal Coven Records 2004.
Tracks 4&5 taken from “Thulsa Doom” EP, Aftermath Music 2006.
Track 6 taken from “Knock 'Em Down To Size" Compilation 7", Metal Coven Records 2007.
Track 1 taken from Split 7” with Rättö & Lehtisalo, Ektro Records 2008.
Track 2 is a Saint Vitus cover taken from “Dark World/Deceiver” 7”, Primitive Reaction 2008.
Track 3 is a Pentagram cover taken from “Under the Sign of the Wolf” Split 7” with Mannhai, The Church Within Records 2006.
