Info:

Schwarzdorn Production proudly presents the debut album of symphonic Black Metallers FORMICARIUS, emerging from London.

In 2016 FORMICARIUS really announced themselves to the world. They stepped out from the underground pack, planted their standard with a wicked flourish and proclaimed, loud and clear, their grand ambitions, their intent to conquer. The ‘Lake Of The Dead’ single, recently re-released with new cover art, was their war cry and it lead to the band’s inclusion on Sony/Music For Nations’ compilation album, Speed Kills VII. In tandem with becoming part of the fabled Speed Kills legacy FORMICARIUS released a stunning lyric video for ‘Lake Of The Dead’, created by Andy Pilkington of Very Metal Art, noted for his work with thrash legends Flotsam & Jetsam. The band rounded off their year with a prestigious slot on the only UK date of the NEGURA BUNGET 20 year anniversary tour and an incendiary performance in London with HATE and NOCTEM – a live presentation that Zero Tolerance Magazine described as “a tidal wave of bombastic black metal grandeur”.

So 2016 was the warning and now it is time for the storm to be unleashed, the war for supremacy to begin in earnest. FORMICARIUS are immensely proud to have joined forces with Schwarzdorn Production and can now unveil their full length debut album - “Black Mass Ritual”. “Black Mass Ritual” gathers up all that is great about black metal - the atmosphere, the intent, the velocity, the savagery, the dark beauty, the drama, the overwhelming power – and breathes new life into its decayed lungs, infusing it with a raging, unholy vigour. The sheer quality of songs like ‘May The Rats Eat Your Eyes’ with its soul searing guitar work, the sprawling majesty of ‘Master Of Past And Present’, the terrifying magnificence of ‘A Requiem For The Bloodborn’; all mark Black Mass Ritualas a debut of immense, unquestionable potency.

With this album FORMICARIUS have ignited a black flame which will consume the metal world. Ample warning was given and now there is no place to run...it’s time to burn.
