Info:

A dive head-first into the Night – that’s BEYOND THE VOID’s forthcoming album “Gloom Is A Trip For Two”, out Feb 22nd 2008 on Endzeit Elegies / Avasonic / Rough Trade. From “Her Dive Into Midnight” to “A Minute Before Dawn”, the album’s 12 songs journey through night-time sins, temptations, passions and pains.

It’s the 3rd album of this Germany-based outfit. Founded New Year 2000, the six guys pooled experiences gathered in former bands to launch a new one with a clear mission: Dark Rock and Gothic Metal of the highest quality. Their 4 composers write twenty to thirty songs per album and only the best are released into the world.

After an EP in 2002, their debut album “Our Somewhere Else” was published in 2004 by Transformer Recs / Curzweyhl / Rough Trade, produced by Jochen Scheffter (Goethes Erben).

First recordings for the follow-up record, with participation of Vlado Meller / Sony Studio New York (Metallica, Slayer), led to a contract for 1 CD with Fear Section / Out Of Line / SPV, label of Germany’s leading Gothic producer Chris Pohl (Blutengel, Terminal Choice). “I Am Your Ruin” was released in 2006.

So far both albums received a total of 150 interviews and reviews (see last page for quotes). The band was voted Breakthrough Artist 2006 by the readers of Mexican magazine “Chimera”, and reached the final of Funkenflug Contest, winning 4 days of personal coaching by Schandmaul (German Top10) and their business partners.

In 2007 they recorded their 3rd album featuring new drummer Claus Legarth who studied drums in Los Angeles and under Alex Holzwarth (Rhapsody, Sieges Even). The bass was played by Martin Motnik (Eisbrecher, Darkseed).

With 2008’s release, BEYOND THE VOID is sharing a label with vocalist Daniel’s 2nd band Worship, a cult Funeral Doom Metal act, Faun (German charts #78), plus La Casa Del Cid & Persephone, two projects by members of Wolfsheim (charts #2) and L’Âme Immortelle (charts #16).

A “thank you” to their passionate Latin American fans is their Spanish-titled single “Seductora”, which features the Mexican singer Isadora Cortina and will be released on Feb 1st 2008. The MaxiCD contains 4 songs, incl. 1 exclusive song and 1 unplugged version.

BEYOND THE VOID played 150 gigs so far and will tour with L’Âme Immortelle in Feb 2008. They supported bands like Leaves Eyes, Xandria, Anathema (UK), Theatres Des Vampires (IT), The Lovecrave (IT), The Cruxshadows (USA), Cinema Strange (USA), Weto (Schandmaul project), Dornenreich and also Lacrimas Profundere, for whom BEYOND THE VOID’s Daniel did lead vocals on the Crematory tour 2006.

BEYOND THE VOID has been both first Metal and Gothic band to tour in the virtual world “Second Life”, as reported by around 100 magazines and newspapers, and will return with the new album in January 2008, playing in a dozen communities around the globe.

They are working on the full soundtrack of the PC Adventure “Schachwelten”, which will hit stores Christmas 2008. Daniel is also soundtrack composer of the PC game “Broken Sword 2.5”.

BEYOND THE VOID is endorsed by Hughes & Kettner, M-Audio, BB Stone (Beyond The Void Custom Instruments), Skyline & Pyramid.
